Bailey Thomas, LMFTA
LICENSED MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATE
I’m here to acknowledge every aspect of you that got you where you are today.
Bailey earned her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University in 2024. She completed her undergraduate degree in Health Promotion and Behavior from the University of Georgia in 2022 which allows her to embrace a more holistic approach. She was born and raised in Georgia, but she has fallen in love with living in North Carolina.
Bailey is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental space for clients to discuss their lived experiences. If you’ve ever wondered to yourself, “does my brain work differently than others?” when navigating life’s challenges, you are not alone. She believes every person is unique, and she finds great value in collaborating on a treatment plan tailored to help clients achieve lasting change, and she will celebrate with you every step of the way! Bailey enjoys working with clients of all backgrounds who may be facing challenges due to neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, self harm, and relationship issues.
Bailey works with individuals ages 12 and up, and she especially enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and their families. She specializes in late diagnosed ADHD and Autism, anxiety, and self harm behaviors. Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and solution-focused. In sessions, Bailey may use a variety of therapeutic approaches such as solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, attachment theory, and narrative therapy.
Outside of work, Bailey loves reading, hiking with her husband & dog, practicing yoga, and a good cup of coffee!

I meet with clients exclusively through telehealth, which means therapy can happen from wherever you feel most comfortable. Whether you're curled up on your couch with a cup of coffee, tucked under your favorite blanket, or taking a session from a quiet corner of your home, I love creating a space that feels relaxed, safe, and genuinely yours. There's something special about being able to show up exactly as you are, in a place where you already feel at ease.

You can expect our first session to be laid back as we get to know each other. I do not consider myself a “blank slate therapist.” I offer direct feedback, compassion, and validation while providing insight and thoughtful challenges. I show up as an engaged therapist who is there to collaborate with you (sessions can literally look however you want them to). In session, I often have fidget toys, a cup of coffee, and my emotional support water bottle next to me.

Many people in my life have experienced various mental health issues, and I got to witness how much therapy changed their lives. I grew up with a passion for mental health, overall health promotion, inclusiveness, and being a good listener. Post graduation, I looked for a job to combine all of my passions. Additionally, I have always been the friend who people naturally go to for support. Being a therapist allows me to listen and help clients see the strength they have within themselves! Being a therapist feels natural and authentic to who I am. Getting to be a part of someone’s journey is the greatest honor I get to hold!
